Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 April 2026

1. Service Description

GetTheDomain checks domain name availability using DNS and WHOIS lookups. The service is provided free of charge. You can enter business names and check their availability across multiple top-level domains.

2. Accuracy Disclaimer

Domain availability results are based on DNS resolution and WHOIS database queries. Results are indicative and not guaranteed to be accurate. Some domains may show as available but be reserved, blocked by the registry, or recently registered. Always verify availability with an official domain registrar before making purchasing decisions. We are not responsible for any losses arising from reliance on these results.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the service
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Overload the service with excessive requests

4. Accounts

Account creation is optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Saved Searches

Searches are automatically saved for signed-in users and kept for 30 days before automatic deletion. We do not guarantee the availability of saved data.

6. Intellectual Property

The GetTheDomain service, its design, and code are the property of GetTheDomain. Domain availability results are factual data derived from public DNS and WHOIS systems and are not proprietary.

7. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
